International Journal of Research in Engineering (P-ISSN: 2664-8776, E-ISSN: 2664-8784) is a peer-reviewed, open access engineering journal published by Sparkling Press. The journal has been publishing original engineering research since 2019 and is currently in its eighth volume.
The journal exists for a simple reason: researchers need a place to publish sound engineering work and have it read. Every article published here is freely available to anyone, anywhere, from the day it appears — no subscription, no paywall and no registration required.
The International Journal of Research in Engineering publishes original research papers, review articles, case studies and short communications across all engineering disciplines and applied sciences. We welcome submissions from academic researchers, postgraduate and doctoral students, and practising engineers.
Work is judged on the quality of the research itself — the clarity of the problem, the soundness of the method and whether the conclusions follow from the results. Papers presenting negative or inconclusive results are welcome where the method is sound, as these are equally part of the scientific record.
The journal is multidisciplinary and publishes engineering research in areas including:
Interdisciplinary work that sits between two of these areas is welcome, and reviewers are chosen accordingly.
The journal follows a double-blind peer review process. Every submission is first screened by an editor for scope and basic quality. Papers that pass this screening are sent to two independent reviewers who do not know the identity of the authors, and whose identities are not disclosed to the authors.
Reviewers assess originality, methodology, clarity and whether the conclusions are supported by the data. Their comments are passed to the author anonymously, and the editor makes the final decision. Most accepted papers go through at least one round of revision.
All articles published in this engineering journal are open access. They are freely and permanently available online from the moment of publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers. Readers may read, download, print and cite articles without asking permission.
Open access means published research reaches researchers at smaller institutions, practising engineers and students who would otherwise not have access — which in turn means more readers and more citations for authors.
The journal is guided by an editorial board of subject specialists drawn from institutions in several countries, comprising an Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors and Assistant Editors who handle submissions in their areas of expertise. The full list is available on the Editorial Board page.
Publishing with this engineering journal takes four steps:
Authors can also download a publication certificate once an article has been published. To browse work already published in the journal, visit the Archives.
