Sustainable irrigation practices are essential for efficient water management in agriculture, especially for water-intensive crops like onions. This review explores the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the CROPWAT 8.0 model to analyze onion water requirements. The study examines recent advancements, evaluates case studies from various agro-climatic regions, and highlights the potential of GIS and CROPWAT in optimizing irrigation strategies.
